OUR KEY OBJECTIVES INCLUDE:

 

• Identify Projects in Latin America that would be good candidates to receive OPIC loans, to provide professional assistance to businesses developing projects in Latin America.

• Identify Marketing Opportunities for US business enterprises seeking to invest in Latin American countries.

• Identify Strong Joint Venture Partners for US companies with the ability to complete and receive OPIC application approval.

• Educate and promote US development in Latin American countries to further economic stability in both countries.

• Promote to US businesses and investors about the reality of the Latin American countries, as a profitable destination for trade, which is supported by OPIC political, financial, monetary and judicial systems making it a sound platform for exporting American goods and services.

Peru Dairy Operation

 

Status: Needs Additional Funding

Description: An NGO (non-governmental organization) is seeking to advance a start-up dairy operation established earlier this year in Peru.  Funding is being requested to purchase additional cows and equipment, along with expanding the supporting infrastructure.  Not only does the dairy operation employ and train local barrio residents, but it also provides better access to milk products to the local children and adults.

African Technical Assistance (USAID and OPIC Initiative)

 

Description: LGEDN is very much involved in supporting the initiative introduced April 15, 2009. The US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) are utilizing EDN resources to distribute technical mission of this African Technical Assistance initiative, or EDN/ATA, is to spur the development of SMEs in sub-Saharan Africa and to provide these entrepreneurs with access to the capital and technical skills needed to enhance production and competitiveness.
